Simple Readings for 40 Days

Rediscover Jesus: An Invitation by Matthew Kelly is a book I’ve read quite a few times over the years. I’m generally not big on rereads, but for the past few years I’ve been reading it during Lent. Why? Each year, I get something different out of it. Also, since it’s become a favorite, I look forward to it during this season of renewal.
The book wasn’t necessarily written for the period of Lent. There are forty short chapters in the book, though, so it’s perfect for the forty days of Lent. Each chapter is simple, concise, and easily read within 5 minutes. They each consist of :
- Short story or message
- Point to Ponder
- Verse to Live
- Question to Consider
- Prayer
Since today is the first day of Lent, I wanted to share about my favorite book for this season, in case someone else might find it helpful. Whether you choose to read the book in one sitting, or slowly throughout the period of Lent, I hope you’ll find this book as impactful as I have.
If you’re looking for a book that’s specifically written for Lent, you might like Rediscover Lent by Matthew Kelly. I read it last year and enjoyed it. I’ll likely read it again during Lent in the future, but for now I’m going back to my favorite one.
