With Love from London
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

With Love from London by Sarah Jio is a heartwarming story about love, family, and friendship. It’s an emotional journey of self-discovery.

My Overview

Sometimes I need a cozy and heartwarming story, and this one turned out to be just right. From the London setting, to the charming characters, and the evolving storyline … it was easy to settle into this one.

When Valentina was a teenager, her mother (Eloise) disappeared from her life unexpectedly. Not having had any contact with Eloise for years, Valentina (now in her 30s and living in Seattle), is surprised to receive notice her mother has passed away and left her an apartment and bookstore in London. What follows is a journey of love and self-discovery.

Told in alternating timelines and dual points of view, the story unfolds in London as Valentina follows the clues to a scavenger hunt Eloise left for her. After years of estrangement, the scavenger hunt is Eloise’s way of sharing her love and and truth about her life with Valentina. More than that, it changes Valentina’s life.

My Recommendation

Overall, this is a story about love, friendship, and new beginnings. I really enjoyed the community aspect and uplifting tone of the storyline. If you enjoy heartwarming about relationships, small communities, and bookstores … I recommend this one.
