9 Books I’m Planning To Read During The Spring Months
It’s spring! 🌸 I have a feeling it’ll feel like winter for a few more weeks, even though the calendar says it’s spring. This has been a long winter, and I’m looking forward to this new season of spring. I’m looking forward to the change in nature, warmer weather, Easter, and new book releases! Although I’m still at the tail end of My Winter 2023 Reading List, I’ve put together my new list for spring because there are lots of books I’m looking forward to.
Each season, I like to put together a list of books I’d like to read during those three months. My list is comprised of both books I’ve been meaning to read and new releases. Sometimes I’m able to get through all of the books on my list. Other times, I only get through most. Either way, I always find it helpful to have a reading list to guide me through the season. It’s my way of keeping things simple 📚.
In no specific order, these are the 9 books on my Spring 2023 reading list:

Between Us by Mhairi McFarlane
This is a story about a group of friends who go away together for a weekend at a country house. What begins as a weekend of celebrations, turns into a weekend of secrets and tensions. Surely, none of them will be the same after this weekend. I enjoy the author’s wit, humor, and writing style, so I can’t wait to read her latest novel.

My favorite novels by this author so far:

Maame by Jessica George
This is a book I’ve been wanting to read since it was released. It’s a story about Maddie’s journey of self-discovery and belonging. I’m looking forward to learning about Maddie’s experiences and her culture.

Good for You by Camille Pagán
Aly Jackson has finally achieved her dream job, all to see it fall apart due to a meltdown. Her life gets worse when she escapes to her beach house in Lake Michigan, only to find her brother’s slacker friend is staying there. Life isn’t going for her as planned, but perhaps it’s taking on a better direction. I’ve enjoyed a few of this author’s books, so I’m looking forward to this one.

My favorite novels by this author so far:

Georgie, All Along by Kate Claiborne
When Georgie Mulcahy ends up unexpectedly going back to her hometown, she questions which life she really wants. The hectic life she leads in LA, or the one she’d dreamed of as a teenager? I’m looking forward to this heartwarming story, since I enjoyed Love Lettering.
Publish date: January 24, 2023

The Matchmaker by Catherine Walsh
A tiny village in Ireland, a close-knit community, and a matchmaking festival. All of that is the backdrop for this new enemies-to-lovers story. I can’t wait! I’ve enjoyed all the books I’ve read by this author, so I have high hopes for this upcoming release.
Publish date: April 18, 2023
My favorite novels by this author so far:

Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfield
Sally Milz, a writer for a late-night comedy show, has sworn off love after some failed relationships. When she hits it off with a Noah Brewster, a host and musical guest for the show, she’s made to rethink her ban on love. Could her life be turning into a romantic comedy?
Publish date: April 4, 2023

The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth
I expect the sleepy coastal town setting amongst the tall cliffs will make this an atmospheric story full of mystery. In this novel, a marriage will be tested when secrets are uncovered. I’m a fan of this author’s twisty family drama stories, so I can’t wait to read this one.

Meet Me At The Lake by Carley Fortune
Fern Brookbanks spent twenty-four hours with Will Baxter nine years ago, and hasn’t been able to stop thinking about him. At thirty-two, life for her isn’t going as she’d expected. Suddenly, Will appears back in her hometown, and Fern doesn’t know what to make of it. Can she trust him? Is her life about to change? I loved this author’s debut novel, Every Summer After, so I can’t wait to read this one.

Only Love Can Hurt Like This by Paige Toon
Wren found out her fiancee’s in love with someone else. Anders is a widower struggling to move on. They’ll meet, but his secret might keep them apart. Two heartbroken individuals, an earth-shattering secret, and a love story? I haven’t read anything by this author yet, but I’m intrigued by the premise of this story, and can’t wait to read it.
