Throughout the year, I put together lists of books that encompass the feel of the seasons. This is my list of books full of fall vibes and cozy settings. Basically, ten books that are perfect for fall! Whether you’re looking for a rom-com, a classic, or a mystery, there’s something for you in this list.
Grab some cider, a pumpkin spice latte, or your favorite seasonal drink … and get ready to enjoy some stories during this cozy season.

A Pumpkin and a Patch by Jennifer Peel
Meet Josie Peterson, her long-time crush Reece, and her cousin Jenna. Since the age of fifteen, Josie has had a crush on Reece. He’s back in town, and Josie is now the teacher of his young daughter. As if that wasn’t enough, Reece is now an attorney and is representing Josie’s ex-fiancé in recovering the engagement ring. This set up, along with the Peterson Pumpkin Patch setting, makes this a fun read for fall.
This is a companion book to Pumpkin Spice and Not So Nice by Becky Monson, which follows Jenna’s story.

It’s time for another trip to the pumpkin patch! This time, follow Jenna’s story as she continues to date (as she puts it) “emotionally unavailable men”. Meet Aiden, the attractive yet emotionally unavailable guy she has a crush on. In this story, you’ll also be able to catch glimpses of Jenna’s cousin, Josie. All this, while enjoying the beautiful setting of the Peterson Pumpkin Patch.

Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery
Anne loves fall and nature. Her delicate descriptions of the seasons and changing colors are something I never tire of. I’ve read this book too many times to count over the years, and the vivid descriptions of nature and the setting are something I always think of during fall. I recommend the audiobook, but reading the story is the coziest way to enjoy Anne’s story and beautiful quotes.

Let this story transport you to the beautiful setting in Scotland. The colors of autumn, the countryside, and the festive event of this season are bound to keep you in the fall spirit. This is a story about love, friendship, and forgiveness.
If cozying up with a lengthy book is more your style, this one’s for you. At 600+ pages, this is a story you can really settle in with and appreciate for a long time.

Very Sincerely Yours by Kerry Winfrey
Teddy and Everett are funny and witty, which makes their email banter super entertaining! While this is definitely a rom-com, the focus is mainly on Teddy’s journey of self-discovery. Overall, this is a heartwarming story with a great message about love, family, and friendship.
This is a fun story with lots of fall vibes. If you enjoy fall decorations, seasonal candles, and cozying up your home during fall, this story has plenty of that to offer.

How Sweet It Is by Dylan Newton
What happens when the Queen of Happily Ever Afters meets the Knight of Nightmares? You’ll find out, when Kate Sweet (an event planner) and Drake Matthews (a well-known author) meet. This is a heartwarming and entertaining story about love, friendship, and family. There are plenty of fall touches and events in this story, including the big event Kate is planning. The “Pumpkin Maniac” cupcake and lattes at PattyCakes, definitely elevate the fall vibes to another level.

Autumn Skies Over Ruby Falls by Holly Martin
Get swept away to the Cornish coast, in this story about love, trust, and new beginnings. The touches of fall throughout the book and the endearing characters, make this a cozy story perfect for the quiet evenings of this season.
This is Book 2 of the Jewel Island series, but can be read as a stand-alone.

Just Another Love Song by Kerry Winfrey
This is a romance story of the second chance trope, and I really enjoyed the storyline. As it turns out, the story doesn’t take place during fall, but it does take place in late summer. The ambience and end of summer events give the story some fall vibes.
Fans of the Gilmore Girls show, will recognize a lot of similarities in this story. he idyllic small town, the quirky characters, and town hall meetings are reminiscent of the setting and community in that show.

The Simplicity of Cider by Amy E. Reichert
What’s better than a story that takes place at a pumpkin patch? One that’s set in an apple orchard, of course!
This is a story about Sanna, a cider-maker, looking for a simpler life on her family’s apple orchard. That, by itself, would be reason enough for me to want to read this story during fall. Add to that Isaac, who ends up helping at the orchard, and his young son. All that together, has the makings of a charming story with all the fall feels.

The Mother Next Door by Tara Laskowski
Take a visit to Ivy Woods Drive, where the Halloween block parties require a guest list, secrets abound, and the Ivy Five are in charge. Just be sure to keep up with their lies, secrets, and backstabbing. This is a fast-paced domestic thriller that’ll keep you guessing and wondering throughout. If you’re looking for a story set during fall, that’s a bit creepy and highly entertaining, this is it.
