This book is part of my 10 Christmas Books For This Holiday Season – 2022.

This is the kind of holiday story that can transport you to the delightful setting and have you rooting for all the characters in no time. It’s also the kind of story that takes place in a charming small town full of thoughtful and amusing characters. Basically, it’s the kind of story I enjoy during Christmas time.
Yes, the story is too simple and predictable at times. However, it has all the elements of a Christmas rom-com, which is exactly what I enjoy during the Christmas season. From the festive decorations, snow-covered setting, small-town community working together for a good cause, and Mara and Noel’s mistletoe meet-cute … this story has it all!
Happy to get away from her family after the disastrous Thanksgiving they’d just “celebrated”, Mara arrives in Carol Cove, Montana with one goal. She’s a real estate agent who works for her father, and her goal is to purchase some land he wants to obtain. Unfortunately for her, the people in this town hate real estate agents and investors who keep showing up with the sole intention of buying land for big corporations. Mara only realizes this once she’s already in town, so she tries to lay low and deny she’s a real estate agent to avoid standing out. You know who does stand out in this town? Noel Holiday, who Mara keeps running into while standing under mistletoe! The Holidays are practically Carol Cove royalty, and before Noel or his family know it their lives are changed by Mara.
This is the companion book to The Holiday Ex-Files by Jennifer Peel, which I enjoyed last year. The Holiday Ex-Files is about Cami’s story after her divorce from Ben. How To Ruin The Holidays is Mara’s story. She’s Ben’s sister, and Cami’s best friend.
