My Favorite Christmas Novella of 2022

This is exactly the kind of story I like 😍. It’s an enemy-to-lovers story about a couple stuck in a cabin in Boise, during the week before Christmas. I loved everything about it (except Penny’s nickname 😏).
Penny and Chase have known each other since middle school, but weren’t friends. In fact, they weren’t nice to each other and even now still feel resentment due to their past behaviors. Chase and Penny’s twin brother (Matt), however, were friends in middle school and still are. When Penny and Chase end up stuck alone at Matt’s cabin unexpectedly, a spark between them seems unlikely.
As the story progresses, truths are told and Penny and Chase become reacquainted with each other. I loved how layered this story was, especially for a novella. I enjoyed the banter and all the background from their middle school years. Overall, I was impressed with the novella’s storyline and how well it wrapped up without leaving loose ends, due to the length of the book.
I have no idea why I’d never read a Cindy Steel book before. Clearly, I’ve been missing out! If you’re looking for a romance novella that takes place during Christmastime but isn’t focused on the festivities, this is it. It’s the perfect way to wrap up your holiday reads!
I can’t wait to read more by this author. Which of her books do you recommend?
Cindy Davis
I have not read this author before but I do have one of her books on Kindle to read (That Fine Line). Maybe 2023 will be the year I get to it, LOL! Great review!!

Thank you! I can’t wait to read more by Cindy Steel. Glad 2023 will be the year you’ll try this author. That Fine Line is the next one I’m planning to read, since it’s Book 1 of a series 😊.

I’ve never read a Cindy Steel book before either, but this is the kind of book I like too!

I figured I was the only who’d never read a book by this author. Now I know there’s two of us 😆. Give this one a try!
