Anonymous Mom Posts by Jenifer Golden
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Anonymous Mom Posts by Jenifer Goldin is a thought-provoking story centered around the dilemmas posted by the women of Hamilton Beach.

My Overview

As the moderator of the Hamilton Beach Moms’ Facebook page, Laura Perry is fed up with the snarky comments constantly on her page. Eager to fix that, she switches to the anonymous posting feature. That, she figures, will foster the supportive community she envisions.

Instead, the Facebook page becomes the perfect platform for the women of Hamilton Beach to post their deepest dilemmas. Those secrets in their lives the women would be embarrassed or afraid to share with anyone? They get posted on the page anonymously! Feeling protected by the shroud of anonymity, the women throw caution to the wind and post their most intimate dilemmas. Unfortunately, the anonymous posts immediately garner snarky and controversial comments. Always the fixer, Laura plans a big in-person event for the women of Hamilton Beach. She figures that giving the women a chance to meet in person and interact, will foster understanding and friendships. Of course, things don’t go as planned, and the integrity of the women is tested … along with the anonymity of the posts.

This story tackles some heavy issues, but the storyline is kept light and entertaining throughout. At the core of the issues are marriage, parenting, sexuality, and trauma. The story is told from multiple the POVs and through the Facebook page posts, which I really enjoyed. That, along with some silly situations and the snarky behavior, keeps the storyline entertaining. All in all, this is an encouraging story with some lessons sprinkled throughout.

My Recommendation

I recommend this debut novel. If you enjoy stories featuring a variety of issues and snarky humor, give this one a try. I enjoyed the writing style, and am looking forward to reading more by this author.
